Frequently asked questions

Tap the + Log button on the home screen and select Seizure. You can record the date, time, duration, type, and any notes — including what happened before or after the episode. Don't worry if you miss some details in the moment; you can always edit the entry later.
Go to Medications in the bottom tab bar and tap Add medication. Enter the drug name, dose, and frequency, then enable notifications. EpiPaws will remind you at each scheduled time and track whether each dose was given, skipped, or late.
Drug level tests (such as phenobarbitone serum levels) measure the concentration of anti-epileptic medication in your dog's blood. Tap + Log → Drug level test, then enter the result value and units from your vet report. EpiPaws will chart these over time so you and your vet can see how levels are trending relative to the therapeutic range.
Open Insights and tap Vet Summary. Choose a date range, then tap Export to share a PDF summary containing seizure frequency, medication history, and drug level results. This is designed to be handed directly to your vet before or during an appointment.
Yes. EpiPaws supports CSV import for seizure and medication logs. Go to Settings → Import data and follow the on-screen instructions to map your columns. If you've been keeping records in a spreadsheet, this is the fastest way to get your history into the app.
Your data is stored locally on your device and backed up automatically via iCloud if you have iCloud backup enabled.
First, check that notifications are allowed for EpiPaws in your iPhone's Settings → Notifications → EpiPaws. Then open the app and confirm that the medication schedule has notifications toggled on. If reminders are still missing, try deleting and re-adding the medication schedule — this re-registers the notifications with iOS.
No. EpiPaws is a logging and tracking tool designed to help you keep accurate records and share information with your vet. It is not a medical device and does not provide veterinary diagnoses or treatment recommendations. Always consult a qualified veterinarian about your dog's health.
