The short version: EpiPaws is a record-keeping tool for owners and carers of pets with epilepsy. By downloading or using the app, you agree to these terms. The app is provided as-is — it is not a veterinary service and nothing in it constitutes medical or veterinary advice. Your data is yours, stored on your device.
EpiPaws is an iOS application developed and operated by Rockethound ("we", "us", "our"). EpiPaws is designed to help owners and carers of epileptic dogs and cats track seizures, manage medications, monitor drug levels, and prepare for vet visits.

By downloading, installing, or using EpiPaws you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you within the app. Continued use of EpiPaws after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms.
EpiPaws is intended for use by adults. If you are under 18 years of age, you may only use the app with the involvement and consent of a parent or guardian. EpiPaws is not directed at children under the age of 13.
Subject to your compliance with these terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to download and use EpiPaws on devices you own or control, solely for your personal, non-commercial use.

Your use of EpiPaws through the Apple App Store is also subject to Apple's Standard End User Licence Agreement.
All data you enter into EpiPaws — pet profiles, seizure logs, medication records, and so on — belongs to you. We do not claim any ownership over it.
Because EpiPaws stores data locally on your device (and optionally in your personal iCloud account), you are responsible for managing, backing up, and protecting your own data. Deleting the app will remove locally stored data. We cannot recover data that has been deleted.
This is intended for pet health data. EpiPaws is designed for recording information about your animal companion. It is not intended to collect human medical information, though we cannot prevent you from entering free-text notes of any kind.
EpiPaws includes an optional Smart Import feature that uses Anthropic's AI to parse imported records. This feature is entirely opt-in — you will be asked to confirm before any data leaves your device.
By choosing to use Smart Import, you consent to the content of your import file being sent to Anthropic for processing, as described in our Privacy Policy. Your import is sent over an encrypted connection via our processing proxy (Cloudflare Workers), which passes the request to Anthropic and does not store it. AI-generated import results are suggestions only — you are responsible for reviewing all entries before saving them. We do not guarantee the accuracy or completeness of AI-assisted imports.
EpiPaws offers optional premium features available via in-app purchase through the Apple App Store. All purchases are processed by Apple and are subject to Apple's terms and conditions.
EpiPaws Premium is an auto-renewing subscription, offered as a monthly or annual plan. Your subscription renews automatically at the then-current price unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your Apple ID is charged within 24 hours before the period ends. You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time in your App Store account settings; deleting the app does not cancel a subscription. Any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited when you purchase a subscription.
We use RevenueCat to manage and validate subscription status. When you make or restore a purchase, RevenueCat receives transaction information from Apple together with an anonymous, app-generated identifier (not linked to your name or contact details) so the app can unlock premium features and recognise your subscription across reinstalls. RevenueCat never receives your pet's health data. See RevenueCat's Privacy Policy.
Purchases are generally non-refundable, except where required by applicable law or Apple's refund policy. If you believe you are entitled to a refund, please contact Apple directly through the App Store.
We reserve the right to change the pricing or availability of premium features at any time. Changes will not affect purchases you have already made.
EpiPaws, including its name, logo, design, code, and content, is owned by Rockethound and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. Nothing in these terms transfers any intellectual property rights to you beyond the limited licence described above.
If you provide us with feedback, suggestions, or ideas about EpiPaws, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual licence to use that feedback for any purpose, including improving the app, without any obligation to you.
EpiPaws integrates with certain third-party services — currently Apple iCloud, Anthropic (for Smart Import), Apple In-App Purchases, and RevenueCat (subscription management for in-app purchases, described above). Your use of those services is subject to their respective terms and policies. We are not responsible for the practices or content of any third-party services.
EpiPaws is a record-keeping tool. Nothing in the app, or in any reports or summaries it generates, constitutes veterinary advice, a veterinary diagnosis, or a treatment recommendation. Always consult a qualified, registered vet for medical decisions regarding your pet.
Drug level data, seizure summaries, and vet visit reports generated by EpiPaws are provided as reference material to support your conversations with your vet — they are not a substitute for professional clinical assessment.
EpiPaws is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be error-free, uninterrupted, or free of viruses or other harmful components.
We make no warranty that EpiPaws will meet your requirements or that any data stored in the app will be retained indefinitely or without loss.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Rockethound shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or in connection with your use of EpiPaws, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of revenue, or harm to your pet arising from reliance on information in the app.
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes liability that cannot be limited or excluded under applicable law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under the laws of England and Wales.
You may stop using EpiPaws at any time by deleting the app from your device. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access to EpiPaws (or any part of it) at any time, with or without notice, if we believe you have violated these terms or for any other reason at our reasonable discretion.
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from or in connection with these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, except where mandatory consumer protection laws in your jurisdiction provide otherwise.
EU residents: If you are based in the EU, you may also be entitled to use the EU Online Dispute Resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
