Privacy Policy

What data we collect

We collect nothing about you personally. The app does not ask for your name, email address, or account details.

The only data the app transmits is the GPS coordinates (latitude and longitude) of the place you're viewing — and, if you search, the place name you type — sent to the services below so they can return a forecast or search result.

Location

When you open the app or add a saved location, Atmos sends GPS coordinates to one or more of the weather providers listed below. This happens over an encrypted HTTPS connection.

• Your current location is only used when you request it. It is not stored on our servers (we don't have any).
• Saved locations are stored locally on your device only and are deleted when you remove the app.
• We do not log, track, or retain a history of the coordinates you look up.

Third-party weather providers

Atmos sources forecast, search and observation data from the services below. Each request includes only the coordinates you are viewing (and, for search, the text you type) — no device identifiers, no personal information. Each provider handles that data under its own privacy policy.

MET Norway

The core forecast source for the app, and one model in the Verdict multi-model comparison.

Bright Sky (Deutscher Wetterdienst)

A forecast source in the Verdict multi-model comparison.

• Based on open data from Deutscher Wetterdienst (DWD), the German national weather service.

OpenStreetMap / Nominatim

Powers place search. When you search, the text you type and the matched coordinates are sent.

US National Weather Service & aviation METAR

Provide the live weather-station observations Atmos shows alongside the forecast.

Global hazard feeds (GDACS · USGS · NOAA)

Power the worldwide extreme-weather events list.

Rainbow.ai

Provides animated precipitation radar and nowcast map tiles.

Local data storage

The following is stored on your device only and never transmitted to us:

• Saved locations (city names and coordinates)
• App preferences (units, theme, notification settings)
• Cached forecast data (held for up to 30 minutes to reduce network requests, then discarded)

Deleting the app removes all of this data.

Purchases (Atmos+)

If you subscribe to Atmos+, the transaction is handled entirely by the App Store (Apple). We never see or store your payment information. Subscription status is verified through Apple's in-app purchase system.

Analytics and advertising

We do not use any analytics, crash reporting, or advertising SDKs. There is no tracking of how you use the app.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes, we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
